Appliances bring man out from the dark ages
Just think where we'd be today without our appliances... Still sitting around a campfire cooking a pig-on-a-stick - that's where!
Modern appliances add to our daily lives by making cooking, heating and burning simpler and more convenient than the caveman ever thought possible.

Everyone owns one or more appliances
The term 'appliance' refers to products like refrigerators, washers & dryers, freezers, dishwashers, ovens, water heaters, air conditioners, toasters, blenders and coffee makers. Almost everyone owns at least one of these appliances... how could they not!
Appliances are items that we, as a modern society, can't live without. Imagine not having your morning cup of coffee - why get up? And without the ability to start a roaring fire in our bachelor apartment, how would we make toast? Or dinner?
Energy-saving appliances are available
When you going shopping for appliances, be sure to check out how energy-efficient it claims to be. Many appliances today have been designed to power-down when not in use, or reduce heat output automatically. Energy-saving appliances can save you money by reducing the amount of electricity needed.
Decorate with appliances
Modern appliances come in a variety of colors, finishes and embellishments. Select your appliance colors to match your kitchen decor. Usually black, white, grey or stainless steel are the choices available with many brand name appliances. But sometimes, wood finishes are available as well.
Measure the space for new appliances carefully
One important aspects of buying new appliances is measuring the space where you plan to put them. Get out the tape measure - write down the width, height of the area where you are installing your new appliances. This is especially important if your appliance purchase includes a refrigerator or oven. Measure counter height to ensure your new coffeemaker will fit.
