When you move into a new home, and if you have a car, one of the major selling points of the property may well be the garage. Having a garage is wonderful for so many reasons. Firstly, if you have a garage, you will not need to park on the street and spend hours looking for a parking space. Driving straight into your garage after a hard day at work is better than having to search. Also, in the garage, the car is protected from the local vandals who smash, steal and break into cars that are not in a garage.

Protecting your assets is important and a garage is one way to do this. Your garage can not only store you car, it can house much more. If you have a garage, make sure it is hooked up to the alarm to stop break ins. When your garage is secure, you can turn it into a storage garage if you have room left with the car in it. Having a huge car in a city is grotesque so if you do not live in the sticks, have a car that will give you room left over in the garage.

Garage owners are very fortunate. Some people actually have a garage but do not even have a car. For these people, the garage is just a storage space or even somewhere to go and smoke if you are not allowed to do so in the home. A garage is like a basement, it is a versatile room but that said, I do not know many people who use the basement instead of the garage to park their car. Use your garage to store old rubbish that you inherited or crusty old souvenirs that your children brought from school. Garage space can be great for all that nasty stuff you do not want littering the house.

The word garage can be used in many ways. In Britain, a garage is somewhere to park your car but also somewhere to get petrol. Sometimes, it is referred to as a petrol garage or petrol station. Garage is a versatile word as much as a versatile space. Whatever you use your garage for, make sure you love your garage and never take your garage for granted.
